By Robert René Galván
As the mind extends
its tributaries,
so does the body
erode into silt,
Or to an empty canyon
where strata record
histories delicate
as the veins of a leaf,
or a tree’s rings,
Doomed to return
as rain, again
and again,
to the spring
with an absence
of memory.
