“Purple fingers” and “honeybee,” Sherry shahan

Nature’s artistry energizes me, inspires me to draw in deep breaths, whether it be while holding a 35 mm camera or an iPhone. “Honeybee” was captured in my garden during an assignment for a photo-illustrated children’s book. “Purple Fingers” simply unhinged me with its organic textures, colors, and composition.

Sherry Shahan's photo-illustrated books include "The Little Butterfly" and "The Sunflower Family." Her travel photos have appeared in the Los Angeles Times, Christian Science Monitor, Backpacker, Country Living and more. She holds an MFA from Vermont College of Fine Arts and taught a creative writing course for UCLA Extension for 10 years.

“Fleeting as a Whim,” “The Mirrors Insomnia,” and “Where Moonlight Vanished,” BILL WOLAK

Everywhere we look faces are staring back at us. Out of the corner of the eye, we spy a wink from a passing shadow or a smile in a gleam of water. We project our selves outward into the field we experience. Here’s what I have found in various landscapes.

Bill Wolak has just published his eighteenth book of poetry entitled All the Wind’s Unfinished Kisses with Ekstasis Editions. His collages have appeared as cover art for such magazines as Phoebe, Harbinger Asylum, Baldhip Magazine, Ragazine, Cardinal Sins, Pithead Chapel, Phantom Kangaroo, Rathalla Review, Free Lit Magazine, and Typehouse Magazine.
